Hop Valley Brewing Company: Reviews & Ratings
I came here on a Saturday around 3pm and it was nice. There wasn’t very many people, maybe like four or five tables. So we got seated immediately. The servers were very nice and the drinks and food came out pretty fast. The place was clean, the food was good, and the drinks were nice. Only “problem” I had was the blacken salmon wasn’t blackened at all it was just plain fish. All in all can’t complain
I was traveling from out of town and went here for a work happy hour. Really enjoyed the beer; they had a huge variety. The service was also amazing. They were some of the nicest people I interacted with. I left my wallet there (with my id and everything!!) and they shipped it back to me right away. I cover this area for work and will definitely be back. Thank you!!
Our lunch was AMAZING. The fries were perfectly crispy, the mozzarella sticks were oozing with cheese, yet not very greasy. Their house made root beer was great. And Matt our waiter was fast to refill our drinks and took very good care of us. Look forward to coming back.
Good tasting burger and full body beer, this (not so little) place felt like walking into a pub where I'm one of the regulars. At a convenient highway intersection, easy to get in and out. Oh, and one of the friendliest barmen I've met, served me and was so polite, I felt welcome.
Current management has evidently taken the old reviews personally and decided the only acceptable response was to go full “hold my beer and watch this.” The atmosphere is relaxed and agreeable, service is prompt and courteous, and the food is—against all reasonable expectations—outstanding for a brewery. The dishes consistently clear the classic brewpub “at least it’s not cardboard” bar with impressive room to spare. My non-negotiable orders are Stash Panda, my preferred IPA, which is on draft year-round and performs with the reliability of gravity, and Hot Lunch IPA whenever it sneaks onto the tap list. Both are so consistently good that trying something else feels like cheating on a loyal spouse. Before escaping, I always fill three 32-ounce crowlers—one for me and two for friends who still pretend they have self-control. The crowler option is basically the brewery saying, “Here, take our beer home so you stop staring at us longingly after last call.” It is a public service. The handful of surviving lower-rated reviews remind us that human taste is a chaotic experiment in incompatibility. No place can please every palate at once; the effort would end in a managerial nervous breakdown and a tap list written in crayon. Most of the vintage complaints belong to a bygone era that has been quietly escorted out the back door. My latest visit ended in complete contentment and with the next date already penciled in. Hop Valley Springfield has pulled off a turnaround so thorough it should come with its own theme music. For anyone in the Eugene/Springfield area who wants reliable beer, food that is embarrassingly superior to brewery norms, and crowlers to smuggle home for later, this is the spot. Strongly recommended—though you may never look at other breweries the same way again without a small, sad sigh.
Great way to chill and have a great happy hour Friday afternoon. Burger without a name is a fantastic burger if you like some heat in every bite. Those onion rings are not an optical illusion, they are really that huge and the best I remember having in a long time. Looking forward to another visit next time I'm in town
Vanilla Infused Porter was excellent. Gouda Mac & Cheese was perfect. Service started slow but once we got waited on it was excellent
Food/Drinks: The burger's pretty good, but I found the fries and tortilla chips to be particularly excellent. I don't like the beer, but I'm 95% sure my opinion is in the minority. Service: Excellent, especially with allergies Atmosphere: A nice family restaurant vibe in the non-bar area
